slacker

Yep, that's me...a major slacker. I just have not been in the mood these last few weeks to blog. I have a lot of updating to do and I promise I will get to them in the next few days. Unfortunately, I have come down with a very bad sore throat and I am just completely exhausted. I'm only 14 weeks and I'm already wanting this pregnancy to end! Unfortunately, that's not going to happen any time in the near future. Let's hope this sore throat goes away soon and that I don't get a cold/flu with it. And again, I promise I will update very soon.

my sweet boy

Just a couple of shots of my sweet boy. The second one is my favorite because he makes this face all the time! He thinks it hilarious. We spent the morning shopping and since he was such a good boy, I decided to take him to the park for a bit. It was a bit chilly so we didn't stay long only long enough for me to get a few photos and for him to enjoy the playground before his fingers froze.

Since it was a decent day out today, we decided to head out to the park. Konnor wanted to take his scooter. It was interesting watching him try to ride his scooter outdoors. So far, he had only used in indoors on our hardwood floors. A lot different than riding outdoors. It took him a while to get a hang of it. But needless to say, he had fun anyway. Afterwards, we decided to take a small walk around one of the trails. It was a good day. 

so sweet

Will and I have already talked to Konnor about him having a brother or sister in the near future. So far, he seems excited about the idea. Today, I caught him drawing pictures at his table and I also noticed that he had paper set up on the other side of the table as well. I asked him if I could sit down and join him and he told me no. He said the other chair was for his baby sister. Yes, according to him, he's having a sister. I thought it was so cute, I had to take a picture.

One of Konnor's classmates had a birthday and they celebrated at school by making crowns and they even had their very own mustaches. Konnor enjoyed both so much, he walked around the house with them on.

Since Konnor's crib converted into a daybed, he's been using that but since we are expecting another baby in a short 5 months, we figured it was time to get Konnor a new bed. We debated between a twin bed and a toddler bed and decided since it was a lot less inexpensive, we went the toddler bed route. Konnor picked it out and is in love. Here he is all snuggled in his bed the second Will was done putting it together. 

playtime in ferndale

Since it was a decent day, we decided to spend the morning in Ferndale. Whenever Will had the chance, he loves to go to Ferndale and just tool around. He grew up there. On one of our stops, we headed to one of the elementary schools (they have a very cool playground) and Will and Konnor had a blast running around all over the place playing on all the equipment.

That's right, Will and I are expecting our second child! We are so excited and am happy to be able to share the news with all of you. I had my first ultrasound today to determine how far along I am. Prior to getting pregnant, I was having some female issues, so we weren't sure how far along I am. I wanted to announce the pregnancy earlier but wanted to wait until we knew everything was okay and knew our due date. 

Isn't he/she precious? I saw the heart beating like crazy and this little 2 inch baby was moving like crazy the entire ultrasound. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and my due date is August 3rd!

For those of you (like Will) who only see a blob in the photo, the baby's head is on the right side and you can see one arm, a leg, and I think the long piece is the umbilical cord (but it might also be the other leg). Not too sure.

lots of snow

Since we still had tons of snow left, Konnor and I decided to head out to the back deck and play in it for a bit. Konnor loved shoveling the snow (did it for a good 20 minutes). Murdock even made an appearance for a bit. I was surprised he didn't mind being out in the snow (he's in indoor only cat).

We woke up to snow this morning. 2 1/2 inches and counting. I think sledding is in our immediate future!

I'm not sure if Konnor's just giving Murdock some love or if he's keeping him away from his dinner. Knowing Murdock, I'd have to say Konnor's protecting his food.

deer visit

These three lovely deers decided to stop by our backyard and have some lunch (on our ferns and other plants) the other day. Konnor loved standing on the back porch and waving and saying, "hi, deer" over and over again. We love it when the deer visit.

happy new year!

Hope everyone out there is having a wonderful new years day. Mine is going really well so far. We had a fabulous morning outside in the freezing cold. We headed over to one of the local parks and walked around while Konnor rode his bike. We also had a good lunch together (it would have been nice to eat outside but since it was so cold we settled for eating our lunch in the car). Here are a few snapshots from our morning. I can't decide which photo I'm going to use for project 365 but at least I have quite a few to choose from.

We weren't sure there would be any ducks in the pond so we didn't bring any food. The minute we walked up to the water, they came swarming towards us in hopes of getting fed. They were quite disappointed.
