how we spent our anniversary...
Since Will's mom was here visiting we were lucky enough to go out and spend the day celebrating our anniversary without Konnor. We really didn't do anything exciting. We pretty much just tooled around the entire day going to our favorite places and just enjoying doing it all without dragging Konnor around with us. It was just an overall great day. I didn't take pictures of every place we went but I think I captured the more important ones, like what we had for lunch and dinner :>)

FIVE years...
Five years ago today, I married my incredible husband! These past five years have been one heck of a rollercoaster ride but I couldn't have chosen anyone better to experience it all with. Some of the more important things I can remember in the last five years...in no particular order: We welcomed our first baby into the world. We love you so very much Konnor! We survived a second (year long) deployment to Iraq. We built and moved into our very first home. We had to say goodbye to our cat Sue. We welcomed into our home an incredibly sweet dog, Maggie, and then two years later had to suffer the loss of her as well. For a year, we welcomed my mother-in-law, brother-in-law and their dog Rusty into our home. We enjoyed a trip to Florida to visit Will's mom, stepdad & siblings. Murdock (the kitty) and Carlos (the fish) became new members of our family. We struggled through major health issues with my mom. We had to say goodbye to Will's uncle. We visited San Diego to visit with Will's dad and all six of his aunts and numerous cousins. This list could go on and on.
The thing is no matter how much I complain or how hard life becomes, I am downright LUCKY to have been able to experience all that I have experienced and with the most amazing man ever. He has brought so much joy in my life and I know that no matter what life brings our way, we will survive, stronger in the end, and all because we have each other to lean on. I love you babe and I love knowing that I get to grow old with you by my side!

sweet baby girl
Konnor and I got to spend half the day yesterday watching this cute little girl. Carrie is just the sweetest baby ever. She even took a 1 1/2 hour nap for me, something her mom wasn't sure she would do for me. Carrie absolutely loves Konnor and vise versa.
Hey Ayn, if you ever need us to babysit again, we're available! Also, the chocolate zuchini bread and raspberry jam you sent home with us are amazing! I think I'm going to have to start making zome zuchini bread with the zuchini you gave us as well. It was sooo good. It was a big hit with Konnor as well! Thanks!

truck obsession
Konnor is still in love with trucks and he still likes to line them up in rows. Playing with his cars/trucks is his most favorite thing to do during the day. He also loves to make truck noises, it is so cute. As you can see in the photo, he has quite a few "big" trucks and I know you're probably thinking that he's a little spoiled and he is but I couldn't help buying most of these trucks because they were all around $3 or less. Our family loves going to the Goodwill and this is one of the reasons. They have the best selection for toys & books. Our two favorite things to shop for, especially for super cheap. Out of the 7 he has, two of them were presents and the other five were finds from the Goodwill. So, needless to say, we've saved a ton of money. It's great.

another hot day
Since today was another scorcher, we decided to meet up with some friends again and head to the lake. Konnor had a blast playing with his friend Noah. We played in the water, played frisbee and just had an overall great time.
There was one incident at the lake. There was a dog out by the boundary line and at first he seemed to be trying to go under the rope but after a minute or so, we realized that he was tangled in the rope. The owner was standing on the grass and was just yelling the dogs name over and over again. Even after people were yelling that the dog was tangled.
Thank goodness for Will. He swam to the dog and at first I was scared the dog would bite him because the dog was thrashing pretty hard in the water and out of panic might bite Will but the minute the dog saw Will, he calmed down immediately and let Will untangle him. Will said the dog was so tired (he was a pretty big dog) he even had to hold him while he swam back for a bit until the dog got his wind back.
I'm so glad Will was there to help but I am so mad at the owner. He just stood there during the whole thing and just watched. Someone even yelled at the guy saying his dog was tangled and he didn't even budge from his spot, even with his two young kids watching the whole thing. How horrible is that? I was so pissed. I wanted to hit him so badly.
When the dog got out of the water, you could tell he was just completely exhausted and the owner didn't even love on him or anything. Just told the dog to get going. The dog even looked as if he was scared of the guy. He didn't want to go with the owner. The owner had to actually hold the dog by the collar to make him go with him. I just wish we could have done something more for that poor dog. I guess I should just be happy that he didn't drown.
Well, besides that incident, the day was great. Here are a few photos of Konnor and his friend Noah.

fun with friends
It was such a beautiful day today we decided to head up to Blaine to see our friends, Ayn & TJ and their beautiful daughter, Carrie. We decided to spend the afternoon at Semiahmoo. They have a little beachfront with sand that Konnor loved. It was too hot for me today but at least there was wind so that I was able to handle it. It's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow, what am I going to do? I guess we'll just have to spend the day at the beach again!

konnor's in love...
Konnor absolutely loves Anna. He had such a fun time playing with her these last few days. He loved sitting with her in this chair whenever they had a snack or were watching a cartoon. At one point, Konnor was sitting in the chair and pointed to the empty spot next to him and said, "Anna, sit here!" They are so cute together. I tried getting a decent photo of the two of them but it didn't work. Anna does not like getting her picture taken so needless to say, this is the best I could do with my ghetto camera.

My best friend and her family came up to b'ham to visit for a few days. They left today, which I was quite sad about but it sure was fun to see her and hang out like old times. We text eachother a lot but we don't get to see eachother that often because we live 2 1/2 hours apart. So, needless to say, we had a good time and so did the kids. Konnor had a blast playing with Melissa's two kids. We were bummed that the weather didn't cooperate with us while they were here visiting. We went to the beach yesterday but it was so windy, we had to cut our beach visit super short.
Here are Chris and Konnor hanging out in the water. The water wasn't too cold and it wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't so crazy. As you can see in the photo, it was quite foggy as well. Oh well.

spray park
We went to a birthday party this past Saturday and it was held at one of the local spray parks. Konnor had a blast. I didn't get a ton of photos of him playing in the water because he was running all over the place having fun. Here are a few of the decent ones.
I don't know what he was doing here but his arm looks all crazy.
I like this photo because you can see both of my boys in it. Will had fun playing in the water with Konnor as well.
