konnor's new dance moves

I wish I had a longer clip to show but I only had a little bit of space left on my camera so it only allowed me to take around a 45 second video...but you'll get to see his new moves. Konnor has advanced in his dancing skills quite a bit. He has moved from turning in circles and moving side to side to his new move, which is running in place and then striking a pose. I have no idea where he learned this new move but it is hillarious. In the video, he starts off by striking a pose, then he goes into his running in place move and so on and so on. This boy makes me smile every second of the day.

whatcom falls

After working six straight days, I finally had a day off today. It was such a nice day, so Konnor and I decided to head to Whatcom Falls. He had a great time on the toddler big toy...it was just the perfect size for him to run around on...no worries about him falling. After playing on the big toy for awhile, we decided to walk on the trail and check out the waterfall. He loved seeing the waterfall. He just crouched down and sat there for a good 5 minutes, just checking it out. He kept pointing at the waterfall and saying "wow". I knew he must have been impressed because he never sits still for more than a minute. It was a good day.

park adventure

Konnor and I had a little adventure at the park on Tuesday. He had a blast going down the slide. Seriously, he went down the slide...up the stairs...down the slide...up the stairs...about a gazillion times. We also walked around the park. That's his favorite thing to do. He loves to explore.
This first picture is the only one where I actually got him to smile...well, he's actually waiting for me to give him a kiss. He loves giving kisses!

taking a break at the picnic table.
checking out the weeds.

taking a rest on the grass. he would not look at me.

my favorite. i love his facial expression here. He sees a bird.

here he is pointing at the bird.

again, not looking at me.

cleaning off his hands. he still hates to have his hands dirty...absolutely hates it.

what a character!

Konnor and I had some good times last week. He is becoming quite a character. Yesterday, Konnor turned 23 months old! One more month and he will be 2! Oh My Goodness! This past year has just crept up on me. I'm not ready for him to be two. What happened to my tiny 4lb baby? He's growing up way too fast.

About a week ago, I found him sweeping the deck. He absolutely loves to help me clean. I was dusting the house the other day and he threw a fit because he wanted his own cloth to dust as well. I'd clean something, then he'd clean the same thing after I was done. Unfortunately, I don't think this cleaning phase will last too long.

When I was doing the dishes yesterday, I happened to look over and find Konnor sitting on Maggie like she was some kind of horse. Thank God Maggie is so patient and wonderful with him because he has recently started messing with her way too often. In the last month, I have caught Konnor countless times grabbing on to Maggies tail and just following her around the house like she was some kind of sled. I'm really trying to enforce the "be gentle" rule right now...but as you can see in the second photo, Konnor isn't really following that rule.

Whenever I ask Konnor to "cheese" for the camera, this is the look I get. Isn't it cute?

Notice the ouchie on Konnor's forehead? Yeah, his first really bad bump. It doesn't look too bad in the photo and it actually didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought it would but man was it scary. A couple of days ago, Konnor fell off the couch. He was climbing on the arm of the couch, which he knows he isn't supposed to do but he never listens, and he fell right off of it with his forehead being the first part to hit and right onto the hardwood floor. It scared the @#%! out of me. I was so worried he jiggled something loose in his brain but he cried for only a couple minutes and then was back to his normal self. He must take after his father...and have a really hard head. I absolutely hate when he hurts himself. I get all weak-kneed. I pray that I never have to take him to the emergency room. Knock on wood!

craigslist find

Isn't it cool? I couldn't pass this up, especially because it was such a good deal. Konnor played in it pretty much the whole day. He would not come inside. His favorite thing was to go inside and open and close the door and the window. There's even a little stove top in the inside. It's really adorable. This little house will definitely get a lot of love & attention.

The family that I bought the house from was also selling a little picnic table. I couldn't pass it up, especially since they gave it to me for only $5. Konnor enjoyed sitting on top of it.
He also enjoyed eating his lunch on it. I told you he wouldn't come inside. I had to bring food out to him. Konnor's not a big eater and suprisingly, he sat at the picnic table and ate almost all his food. He rarely ever eats even half of what I give him. So, I think we'll be doing a lot of eating outside if it'll get him to eat more.

And, one more, because this one is just so dang cute. Doesn't he look just like his daddy?

konnor's big boy bed

Isn't it cute? I found this firetruck bed off of craigslist a few weeks back and Konnor immediately fell in love with it. He was so giddy...seriously. I had never seen him act like that before. He helped me put it together and when it was all done, he climbed right in and was smiling from ear to ear and jumping on it. He has fallen in love with his new bed. Every night I give him the option of sleeping in his crib or in his big boy bed and he always chooses the firetruck bed. The best purchase off of craigslist in a while. Speaking of craigslist, I found something else for Konnor and I'm picking it up for him today. Hope he likes it. It's an early birthday present for him. I'll post pictures later. Can you believe Konnor will be turning 2 in just a little over a month? Crazy, huh? My boy is growing up!

Great Wolf Lodge

A couple of weeks back, Konnor and I went to the Great Wolf Lodge with my brother and his family. We had such a great time. It will definitely have to be an annual trip. Konnor absolutely loved it. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Konnor just hanging out in the water. It took him a good hour to get used to wearing the life vest.
Konnor and his Auntie Martha going down the toddler slide. He loved this thing. He did really well going down it by himself as well. We spent most of our time in the toddler area.

Alex getting soaked.

Konnor spraying some kid and auntie Martha making sure he doesn't fall off.

Hanging out in the pool. This area was cool. Every 10 minutes or so the waves would come and that was pretty fun. Konnor wasn't really into it. He liked staying in the shallow parts.
Alex going down one of the slides. These were super fun.

Konnor enjoying the water some more.

Taking a break from the water to check out the hotel. Lots of cool things to do in the hotel.

After a long day of swimming. This boy had a ball.

summer fun

I finally went out and bought Konnor a real swimming pool. I put his slide in the pool and he love love loves it. He spent a good hour continuously sliding into his pool. He was so cute. He would climb up his slide, wait until I'd count to three and then he'd slide down it. So, I got to count to three about 632 times. Fun.

Here he is waiting patiently for me to count to three.

Splashing into the pool.

We took a break from the pool to blow some bubbles. At first he got too close to the wand and would blow too hard.

Then after I showed him what to do (which was a struggle because he is Mr. Independent) he was blowing bubbles like crazy. Such deep concentration in this photo.

bambi

When I came home from work on Tuesday, this pretty little creature was hanging out in my backyard.

Then, when I woke up the next day, she was back, relaxing in my front yard.

hot hot hot

The last couple of days have been crazy hot. Konnor has been playing out on the deck quite a bit because the house is so crazy warm.

I've been meaning to pick up one of those cheap plastic pools but I always forget so I decided for the time being to let him take a dip in the galvanized bucket. He absolutely loves it. Although, his favorite thing to do is dump sand into the water. Not fun to clean up.

Today, he decided he wanted to be naked for most of the day. I tried to at least put a diaper on him and he kept running away from me. I have a bad feeling he's gonna go through the "I want to be naked all the time" stage. That ought to be interesting.

I'm not so sure what he's doing here.

He decided to grab a bucket and pour water onto the deck. Then he tried to pour water on himself. Didn't quite make contact though...missed by a few inches.

Then he decided he wanted to check out my camera. He's obsessed with my camera. I think I'm going to have to buy him one of those plastic ones that are made specifically for kids. He loves taking pictures. So, here he is when he first comes up to check out the camera. Notice the smile.

Here he is a minute or so later when I still have the camera and he doesn't.

And here he is after another minute when I still have the camera. He really really wanted it.
