fun with puzzles

Konnor absolutely loves puzzles and he's really good at them. I found this set of 6 at the consignment store and he can go through the whole set in 5 minutes. We have our little routine, he'll pull a puzzle out of the rack, I'll empty the puzzle, and he'll put it back together and we'll do this until all six are done. I wanted to get it all on video because he does it so quickly but once I brought my video camera out, he was more interested in that than the puzzles. Go figure.

If any of you know of a great place to buy some inexpensive puzzles, please let me know. He's seriously obsessed and I think he's starting to get tired of the ones that he owns.

the beach...with daddy.

Konnor and I haven't been to the beach with Will this summer so since it was nice out yesterday, we thought it was the perfect time to go. The boys had a blast together.

Daddy and Konnor checking out the water.

Throwing rocks into the lake.
Daddy burying Konnor's feet. Konnor loved it.

Daddy picking up and then dumping Konnor into the water. Konnor enjoyed this quite a bit.

fun with daddy

We went to the park and Daddy decided to chase Konnor. Konnor absolutely loved it.

He especially loved it when daddy went down the slide after him. Probably my favorite picture of the day. Pure delight on Konnor's face.

Konnor's favorite part of the day was the swings. He was laughing so hard I thought he might hurt himself. Daddy would push him and then chase after him and for some reason, Konnor thought that was hilarious.

How can you not have fun with a daddy who can make faces like this?

new & improved dance moves

Konnor has recently started to expand his dancing even further. He gives you a quick peek at some of his new moves in the video. His favorite is the finger snap...and he can actually snap them and I have no idea where he learned it from. All of a sudden, he just started snapping one day. Pretty crazy. One things for certain, I am definitely going to put him in dance classes as soon as he's old enough. It's still his favorite thing to do.

will's home!!!

Konnor and I headed to Ft. Lewis early saturday morning to pick up Will. It was such a pain to get on base. Once we got to Tacoma there was stop and go traffic, once we got to the gate to get a visitor pass, there was a line of about 30 people in front of us getting the same pass, and only one person handing them out. This was the worst part because I had to convince Konnor to stay in one spot for about 20 minutes. By the time we made it to the gymnasium, where the ceremony was being held, I was drenched in sweat and I was about 40 minutes late. I was in a panic, thinking I might miss the whole thing. Luckily, we made it in time. The gym had no air conditioning and there was no where to sit. We finally just stood against the wall but then all Konnor wanted to do was run all over the place, which was making me sweat even more running after him. One positive thing was that at least it was only 85 degrees instead of 100 degrees.

Finally, the guys arrived and Konnor was so excited. He pointed to every guy as if they were Will. Luckily, Governor Gregoire only talked for about 10 minutes and then dismissed the guys. It was so wonderful seeing Will and Konnor immediately flew into his arms. I was so glad he remembered his daddy.

Konnor giving Will a kiss.

Walking to the car.

We had to wait for the truck (which had Will's bags) to arrive so we hung out in the air conditioned car and Konnor enjoyed "driving" and looking cool in his shades.

Sadly, I didn't get a picture of all three of us.

The next day, which was Will's first full day home was good, except for the fact that we lost power around 12pm. The whole street was out and we were out until about 7pm. Yeah, PSE spent the entire day trying to figure out where the problem was and once they found out where it was, they actually had to drill into the ground to get to it. Such a pain. Then we finally get power back and around 9:30pm, the power goes out again. It didn't turn back on again until almost midnight. Luckily, I think they have figured out the problem because no power loss today. Let's hope it stays that way. So, Will's first day was an interesting one. Today was tons better. I'll post about today's adventures tomorrow. We head to the zoo tomorrow...so excited. Konnor's never been and I think he'll have a blast.
Goodnight!

it's been a very long year

in just a few hours, konnor and i get to see will. we are so excited. hope konnor remembers him. will said he had a dream last night that konnor came running into the crowd after the ceremony and he ran up to the wrong guy. if that does happen, it's only because there's going to be at least 100 guys there in the same uniform...they'll all look the same to me too.

sooooo excited....
