snow?!?

I can't believe it's snowing! It's been snowing up here pretty much all day but luckily it didn't start sticking until I was able to get home from work at around 5 this evening. Since then? We have already accumulated about 4 inches. What the heck? I am in shock. I thought we were done with the snow. Well, at least Konnor seems to be enjoying it. I decided to let him hang out on the back deck for awhile and play and man did he have fun. Look at his face! He loves loves loves the snow. When it was time to go in, he was not happy with me. But I'm sure he'll have plenty of opportunity to play in the snow again tomorrow. I don't think this stuff is going anywhere for quite some time.

body parts

Konnor just wanted to show everyone how many body parts he can identify & he's learning more every day. Right now, we're really working on animal sounds. Enjoy the little video.

bath time with daddy

Will thought it would be fun to jump into the bath with Konnor. Konnor wasn't sure what to think at first but decided it was kind of fun having daddy in the bath with him.

recorder & a doctor's visit

Will bought Konnor this recorder the other day and Konnor absolutely loves it. He thinks it's so cool when he blows in it and it makes a sound. He's actually pretty good at it. The best & most inexpensive toy ($1 a Walmart) Konnor has & he loves it.

In other news, Konnor had his 18 month doctor's appointment and man did he not like it. In the last week or so, he has become really uneasy around strangers. He definitely didn't like the doctor or nurses today. If they just looked at him, he cried his eyes out. So, as you can imagine, the visit didn't go too well. He pretty much cried the whole time, especially when he was getting weighed & getting his shots. Not a happy camper. So, the verdict is Konnor weighs in at 23 pounds (20th percentile) & is 33 1/2 inches tall (90th percentile). I'm just happy that he doesn't have to go back to the doctors for another 6 months.

One more thing, happy friday the 13th. Will would be upset with me if I didn't mention this day. As a matter of fact, he is at the movies right now with his brother, watching the new remake of "Friday the 13th." I obviously stayed home. I have no desire to watch people get hacked to death. I don't consider that a good source of entertainment like my husband does. Hope everyone has a horror-free day!

no need to call child services

Will was drinking beer last night & at one point was drinking one & had another can (not opened) sitting on the coffee table. Konnor threw the biggest fit because he wanted the can, so of course, Will gave it to him & this is what Konnor did. So funny. I guess he just wanted to be like his daddy. If you listen carefully, you can hear him make sipping noises & he smacks his lips a few times like he just tasted the best thing ever, even though the can is not opened. When we finally took the unopened can away from Konnor, he threw a huge fit & cried for about 5 minutes straight.

daddy's home!

Will came home a few days ago & boy was Konnor happy to see him. Konnor had just woken up. I carried him out to the living room & told him daddy was home. When he saw his daddy, he immediately threw his arms out to him & gave him the biggest smile ever. Such pure happiness.

glasses & other news

Konnor is fasinated with glasses. He actually broke Nana's glasses by yanking them off her face. So, the other day, he pulled daddy's glasses off and Will decided to put them on Konnor. Isn't he cute? I made Will take them off though because his glasses have a really strong prescription. I don't want them to mess with Konnor's eyes. Konnor actually liked wearing them though. Well, the day after that, he kept trying to take Will's glasses so I gave Will some sunglasses for Konnor to wear instead & he thought they were so cool. I think they fit perfectly with his AC DC shirt that he's wearing.

I'm bummed out because Konnor had his first dentist appointment today and I forgot to take my camera. So upsetting. Oh well. He did pretty well considering he had to lay his head in a strangers lap & get his teeth manhandled. Luckily, he can wait a year before he needs to go again. I absolutely love his dentist and the whole atmosphere was so kid friendly (thanks Tammy for telling me about her). Tomorrow we're off to the doctors for his 18 month check-up. He's so not going to be happy with me after he gets his shots. Hope it goes quickly.

On a side note: Konnor is amazing us with this potty training. Today was his second day of going potty on the big boy toilet and he did an amazing job. We put him on the toilet 5 times today and he went potty 4 out of the 5 times. I'm speechless.

huge day for konnor!!!

Yep, as you can see by the picture, Konnor went potty all by himself for the first time tonight! I've been thinking about potty training him for awhile now and last week I finally went out and bought a potty. When I brought it home, I showed it to him, he helped me set it up, and I told him that this was his very own potty. I asked him if he wanted to potty in it that night and so I sat him in it. He didn't do anything but he thought it was pretty cool. This past week, every time I would go to the potty, he would come to the bathroom with me and once in a while he would check out his own toilet & sit on it (with his pants on). I pretty much just left it alone for the week. I'm really in no rush to get him to do it. I just figured he could get used to the potty and I would slowly introduce the idea to him.
Well, tonight was apparently the night. Will got up and said that he needed to go potty so I asked Konnor if he needed to go & off he ran to the bathroom with his daddy. When they came out I asked Will if Konnor had gone & he said he didn't even put him on the toilet. Well, Konnor was crouching and grabbing his diaper so I asked him again if he needed to go potty & again he ran to the bathroom. So I asked Will to take him in there. I stood by the door while Will got Konnor on the toilet & within 5 seconds, we hear this little tinkle. Konnor stood up and to our suprise, we saw that he indeed went potty. Of course, Will and I jumped up and down, clapped like crazy, & kept saying "yay" over and over again. Konnor thought that was so cool, he just kept sitting on the toilet with a huge smile on his face. I'm glad I thought to take a picture before he jumped off the toilet.
What a great moment. I am so glad Konnor's first time going potty was with Will and I am so happy that Will was here to experience it. So, I'm still in no rush to get him potty trained. The last thing I want to do is make it into some big ordeal. So, I think I'll eventually get some pull-ups because that'll make life so much easier but no big rush for right now. I'll probably ask Konnor a few times a day if he needs to go and if he does, great, & if he doesn't, that fine as well. I just can't believe he actually went. My little boy is growing up!
