A few days ago, we headed to Zuanich for some kite flying. It turned out to be a perfect day for our little adventure. Konnor had a blast flying the kite.

Fun Cooking Experience

If you have a kid like Konnor that loves to help out in the kitchen and cook, then check out this site Culinary Kids Cooking Experience. It's for kids 18 months and older and parents. It's held in Bellingham at Preschool of the Arts. I signed Konnor up for the April and May date. Erin, the lady teaching the class, is only doing this once a month as of right now and April is full (I took the last spot) but she said there were still a few spots left for May (I talked to her this morning). It's only $10 and it's an hour long. This isn't on the site but she told me that she is going to have a mini cooking camp as well. It'll be in August for three days straight, an hour class each day. I'm super excited. Konnor is going to love love love it.

Here's Konnor helping Nana make garlic butter for some yummy garlic bread. He also helped bake homemade chocolate chip cookies the other day but I didn't take any pictures. He is so fascinated with cooking. Maybe he'll be a world famous chef one day?

If you live in Washington and you have kids that love Thomas the Train, then check out this site Day out with Thomas. Will and I are planning on taking Konnor. It looks like so much fun and on top of that, since it's in Snoqualmie, we can check out Snoqualmie Falls as well. Konnor is going to love that. Tickets don't go on sale until April 26th.

Another cool thing to check out with the family: Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA. I never knew we had this in Washington. I knew about Northwest Trek, but the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim looks way cooler. You can actually go on a driving tour in your own vehicle (animals come right up to your car) and they also have a freshwater aquarium. Pretty cool.

I've been searching the web for cool family activites to do in the Spring and Summer and when I find some more cool activites, I will share them with all of you too.

lake padden

It was such a nice day out today so Konnor and I headed out to Lake Padden to play. Unfortunately, no matter how sunny it was today, it was freezing cold because of the wind. So, we didn't get to stay too long.

We enjoyed the playground, beautiful scenery, and Konnor especially enjoyed all the ducks. He spent a good amount of time just chasing after all of them. Konnor would have run into the lake after the ducks if I had let him. The ducks would escape to the lake and wait a few minutes then waddle back on ground. Then Konnor would go back and chase them again. It was pretty funny to watch.

As we were leaving Lake Padden, Konnor told me he had to potty. So, I took him up to the restrooms to only find out that the doors were locked. Apparently, the restrooms are only open during spring and summer. What???? People use this park year round. I can't believe they wouldn't keep the restrooms opened. So, needless to say, Konnor had his first outdoor potty experience. It was hilarious. I think Konnor thought it was pretty cool. Now I just hope he doesn't think he can just whip it out anywhere we go.

Konnor loves to throw rocks into the water. He decided he wanted to grab the biggest ones he could find. It was pretty cute watching him try and throw the rocks in the water.

what a beautiful day!

Konnor's Nana and Uncle Jake are here visiting (well, Nana's visiting and Uncle Jake is going to be living with us for a while). Today was such a nice day that we decided to spend most of it outside. First, we headed to the Marine Life Center. We weren't there too long because Konnor wasn't too interested in it...maybe he will be once he's a little older. He did try the the touch pool once (see 1st picture below). But that was about it.

So, we then headed over to Zuanich Park. Konnor had a blast running around the park, checking out all the cool kites, boats, and beautiful Bellingham Bay. Then we headed to dinner at Red Robin (Konnor got a balloon and that made his day) and then dessert at Cold Stone. We all had a blast. Hope the rain that's predicted to come tomorrow doesn't last too long. I'm now itching for Spring to get here! There are so many great outdoor activities in this town and I can't wait to explore with Konnor.
