forest park

My friend Tammy, her two girls, Konnor, and I went down to Everett today to check out Forest Park. We had never been and we all fell in love with it. It's huge...it has a pool, water spray park, animal farm, huge playground, etc... We started out in the animal farm. Such a cool place to check out goats, calves, horses, ducks, bunnies. You can walk around and pet most of these animals too so that was cool. We then went to the water spray park. It was fairly large and had some really cool spray fountains. Konnor wasn't really into it because the water was so cold. He absolutely hates cold water. We then had lunch and the kids ran around the playground for awhile. We were then going to check out Jetty Island. A very cool man-made island with sandy beaches to run around on and you can go swimming as well but the wait (the ferry is tiny and they only take 80 passengers at once) was 2 hours long so we decided to just head back home and do that part another time. Such a fun day. I would definitely head back to Forest Park in the future. We loved it!

Kate and Konnor checking out the bunnies. Kate was so good with Konnor. She was always by his side and helping him when he needed it.

Here's Konnor telling the girls about the ducks.

Checking out the baby calf. Konnor loved this calf. He kept wanting the calf to lick his hand and he kept following it around. He almost tried to grab his tail but I caught him in time. I had a feeling he'd try that since he loves to do that to Maggie.

Checking out the goats...who were more interested in eating than Konnor.

This goat was super cute. It jumped up on the picnic table and just hung out. Konnor loved this goat so much. He kept trying to feed the goat grass.

Kate and Konnor. I love these next two pictures. They were so cute. When we were in the car heading back to B'ham, Konnor fell asleep and Kate held his hand the whole way home. I wish I had my camera with me. It was freakin adorable.

The water spray park.

Konnor not so sure if he likes it.

Testing the water.

Unfortunately, it was too cold for him. He preferred to watch everyone else from the sidelines.

playground adventure

Melissa and I took the kids to the playground a few days ago and they had a ball. Here are some pics.

Konnor absolutely loves the slide.

Chris enjoying the motorcycle.

Anna looking adorable on the swings.

Konnor was fascinated with the drinking fountain. Too bad he was just a tad bit too small to drink the water on his own.

Konnor's new facial expression...the eyebrow lift. He does it for everything and he thinks it's hilarious. I have no idea where he got it from.

my new favorite...he's just so adorable...plus, he looks so grown up.

a day at the beach

My friend Melissa and I took the kids to the beach for Konnor's birthday. They had a blast and we had the beach all to ourselves for about 30 minutes. Not too bad! Here are some photos from our morning.

Konnor enjoyed climbing over the log.

Anna...isn't she just too cute?

Chris jumping off the log.

Konnor's not used to playing with kids so he played by himself most of the time.

But once in awhile, he let Anna play with him as well.

Chris...so handsome.

I tried to get a group shot but it's SUPER hard trying to get three kids to look at the camera at the same time...especially when there are so many distractions.

two!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Konnor! I can't believe it's already been two years since I gave birth to you. You are so very special to me and I am by far, the luckiest momma in the world. You are one amazing boy! You make everything in my life better. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face because I know that I will be able to see you standing there looking back at me with unconditional love. You are so laid back but headstrong when you want to be. You are such an easy going boy. As long as you have your blankie, music playing, and are surrounded by the people who love you, you are happy. I love you with all my heart now and forever. I have no doubt that your second year is going to be a blast and I am so very lucky to be by your side every step of the way. I love you buddy!

m.i.a.

I feel like I've been going non-stop lately. I feel like I've been neglecting my blog. I'm definitely not taking enough photos anymore. I think I've actually given up on the whole 365 scrapbook. I think I've only taken a handful of photos in the last month or so. I've been crazy busy with work. For those of you who don't know, I got a new job. I miss Treasury so much but I have to help put food on the table and provide health insurance for my baby boy. Some times it sucks being a grown up. I just started my new job about a month ago but it feels like it's been years...seriously. But that's what you get when you're in debt. In the next month, life is going to be crazy. My mother-in-law, brother-in-law, & their dog, Rusty will be moving out of the house and moving across the U.S...which means I will lose my wonderful and FREE babysitter. The most exciting new is that my husband will be back (yay!!!!) and my house will once again feel like my home. The scary part? Our future is up in the air. Who knows where we'll be a year from now, let alone a month. Life is sometimes scary and right now, I'm a little scared. I just have to keep telling myself that everything will be okay and it'll all work out. I've gotta have faith! So, if I'm a little scattered with my blogging, I apologize. I've got a lot on my plate right now. Wish us luck!

new kids on the block...again!!!

NKOTB came back into town yesterday for their second tour...and of course, Melissa and I had to go. This time around, the concert was at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn. We had pretty decent seats and the concert rocked. I didn't take many photos since my camera wasn't cooperating very well but I did get a nice little video of the boys singing one of their great songs, "My Favorite Girl"...loved it! And I, of course, got a photo of Joe. Isn't he just the cutest?

4th of july

I invited my friend Tammy and her family out to where I live to watch our annual fireworks show. I had never been before so I wasn't sure what to expect...it turned out to be a really good show. Everyone gathers over at the marina and hangs out on the grass. There's music, coffee, a beautiful view of the lake, sections put aside for kids to do their own fireworks. It's pretty cool.

This was Konnor's first time seeing fireworks and I wasn't quite sure how he'd react. He loved them. Some of them were super loud and that didn't even scare him...I was impressed. When they did get too loud, he just covered his ears. He was really into them when we first got there but by the time the show started (2 hours later), he was pretty much over it. I think he only watched the last minute or so. He was more interested in trying to walk around and play with Tammy's two girls. Here are some pictures of the night.

Here's Uncle Jake, Konnor, and Tammy's youngest, Sam, checking out some kids lighting their fireworks.

Konnor and I hanging out on the grass.

Tammy showed Konnor that he could lay down on his back and watch the fireworks. He liked this the best.

Isn't Sam adorable?

Sam showing Konnor how to correctly hold a sparkler.

Lighting the sparklers. Konnor didn't care too much about this. He was more interested in watching everyone else.

Kate, Steve, & Sam with their sparklers.

Tammy with her two girls. Aren't they just the cutest? I love them.

Konnor hanging out in a chair, with his blankie. Some really loud fireworks must have been going off at this time since he's covering his ears...but he's smiling, so he must still be enjoying it.

Konnor and Sam loving on eachother.

Uncle Jake and Konnor enjoying the fireworks show.

Sidenote: Happy Birthday to my friend Carly. Love you!

Another sidenote: Notice Konnor's blankie? If any of you out there know of a place where I can get the exact same blankie, please let me know. I originally bought it at Target but they no longer carry it. Konnor is very attached to it and no other blankie will do. I'm praying it'll last forever or until he's over it! Wishful thinking?
