happy halloween!

Konnor had one amazing Halloween this year. He really enjoyed trick or treating. I literally had to jog to keep up with him. He was on the go the minute we started the day. He was seriously on a mission for candy, candy, and more candy.

We met up with some friends and headed out to Fairhaven first and Konnor enjoyed it but it was a little overwhelming because of how many people were there. But it was fun to see all the cool costumes. There were a lot of bumble bees this year. Konnor had fun. Then we grabbed pizza for dinner with our friends. After dinner, we said goodbye to our friends and Will and I took Konnor to a little neighborhood to go trick or treating door to door. Konnor liked this the best.

Konnor got sooo much candy. We picked a great place this year because Konnor got a bunch of full sized candy bars. He doesn't know this yet but he is totally sharing his candy with me! By the time we were done, Konnor was exhausted. He missed his normal 3 hour nap today so by seven o'clock, Will and I were exhausted as well. We're already looking forward to next Halloween. Hope all of you enjoyed your Halloween as well!

family time

Will was super busy this past week at work so we are super excited to spend this weekend together as a family. We hung out all this morning, shopping and playing at the park (a couple of photos below from our park visit) and having a great lunch together. We're planning on carving our second pumpkin tonight and maybe watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown as well.

Tomorrow, we have a birthday party to attend for a sweet baby girl who will be turning one! Konnor gets to wear his costume. He's happy about that. Then we'll be hanging out all night trick or treating! We are super excited for tomorrow. Konnor has been counting down the days to Halloween on his calendar. He is obviously most excited about the candy.

halloween at school

Yesterday was a special day at school for Konnor. The kids all came dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Konnor was so excited. All the kids had great costumes. Konnor asked me to stay at school so I did and since I was there, I had to take some photos.

I hadn't stayed with him in his classroom yet so it was nice to see what they did in class and how he behaved. He was so good. He tends to play by himself, which wasn't suprising. He did play with a couple of the girls for awhile in a fort the teacher made for them. So that was cool to see. He just such a laid back kid.

The first thing he does every time I drop him off at school is head straight for the shopping cart. He loves to push this thing around the classroom until it's time for circle time.

At circle time, he was chosen to put the day up on the calendar.



The child who gets chosen to put the day on the calendar also gets to choose how the class will count the days. Konnor chose for everyone to lay on their backs and kick their feet while they count. It was funny.

The kids all got to make their own jack-o-lanterns as well. I love the one the girl made. Her jack-o-lantern had lots and lots of stems.



Since it was a special day, the kids all got to decorate a pumpkin shaped cookie and have it after snack. It was a big hit.



The teacher also had a pin the nose on the pumpkin game. Each kid got a little prize too. Konnor thought that was cool.



The teacher spent some time working on a puzzle with Konnor and another classmate.



They also played "Little Miss Muffet". This was Konnor's turn to be Little Mr. Muffet. The boy dressed like spiderman was the spider, getting ready to sit down beside Konnor.



And at the end of the day, the teacher always reads a story. The kids love this time.

jello pops

Konnor and I made some yummy frozen jello pops the other day. They are so good. They're Konnor's new favorite treat. The next time we make them, I'm going to have to put them in smaller cups. These ones are just a bit too big for Konnor.



neutered

One of these boys got neutered yesterday. Can you guess which of these two was the lucky one? Haha!

Murdock did great yesterday. The doctor gave me a cone to put on Murdock once we got home and he told me to leave it on him for about a week. Ummmm...first off, I've had cats neutered before and I never once had to put a cone on any of them. Secondly, cats are not like dogs. Which means they are smart and there is no way this cat of ours, this fiesty cat of ours, is going to want to wear this cone.

Well, when we got home last night, we put the cone on him and I was right, Murdock despised the cone. He was doing everything possible to get this cone off of his neck. He was doing flips, hopping up in the air. We actually only let him wear it for a minute or two (just long enough for me to get a picture) and then took it off. We were worried he'd do more harm to his stiches and sore area with the cone on, especially since he was going kind of berserk with it on.

Murdock has done amazingly well since the surgery. He definitely had no problem recovering. The doc said the minute Murdock was awake, he was trying to play with anyone who walked by his crate, attacking them with his paw. We're glad all went well and he's glad he doesn't have to wear the cone.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago. I love it because of the noises Konnor makes when he is turning left or right. He is so cute. Plus, riding his bike is his favorite pastime so I'm glad to capture a little snipet of him riding on video.

kitties galore

Oh Murdock! What can I say about our crazy cat. Yes, he looks super sweet but in fact, he is quite crazy. Maybe it's the fact that we named him Murdock. The character Murdock from "The A-Team" was crazy and according to Will, there was a reaccuring character on "MacGyver" named Murdock who was MacGyvers arch enemy and also crazy. Maybe if we had name our cat fluffy or picked a normal name like Tom, he wouldn't be so crazy. I just don't know. He is not like any cat we've ever had before that's for sure.

One minute, he'll be super cuddly and he'll be constantly purring and then the next minute, he'll be running up to you out of nowhere are will start attacking you and biting you. It's insane. I feel bad for Konnor because all Konnor wants to do is love on his cat but 90% of the time, he can't because Murdock will try and bite him. Most of the time, he's just trying to play with us but his bites can sometimes hurt and he actually bit Will hard enough for him to start bleeding. I don't know what we're gonna do. This cat has more time outs (yes, we give him timeouts in the bathroom or bedroom when he's acting crazy) than Konnor. The vet said he's still teething so that can be a huge reason for the biting. I hope he will grow out of this soon or I don't know what we'll do.

Another wierd thing about our cat is that he loves, absolutely loves water. He loves to sit in the sink and he loves to jump into the bathtub when Konnor's in the tub and he has actually jumped into the shower with me one time. I've never met a cat who is that much in love with water. When he's in a good mood, he also loves to follow me around the house. He is constantly at my feet whenever I get up to go somewhere. He is one bipolar cat, that's for sure.

When Konnor and I were at Melissa's house this past weekend, Konnor had a blast playing with their two kitties, who are a couple of months younger than Murdock. Now these cats are what I would call normal. They are soooo loving and never once clawed or tried to bite anyone. They were so chill. Plus, they are super cute. Konnor couldn't get enough of them. Probably because he can't cuddle with Murdock like he can cuddle with these two kitties. Why couldn't we have been blessed with cats like these two?

weekend visit...day one.

On friday, I headed down to Puyallup to spend some time with my best friend and her family because her daughter was having a birthday party (Anna turned 3) on saturday. On our first day there, we decided to head out to a local pumpkin patch and I was able to capture some photos.

Chris got to sling some baby pumpkins out into an open field. He thought that was cool.

Melissa and her two kids. It's amazing to think that Melissa and I have known eachother since I was a newborn. What's more amazing is that we're still friends after all these years.

dentist visit

Konnor still loves the dentist. Yay! He had his six month check-up and all went well. No cavities or issues whatsoever. So happy about that. He was somewhat tense most of the time we were there but at least there were no tears. The only time he actually smiled was when the dentist came at the end. I love her. She is amazing. She had him smiling and laughing within 30 seconds.

Konnor had x-rays for the first time. He did such an amazing job. They had to take 3 photos and he was awesome. Although, he does look a little unsure in this photo.

 I took this right after the x-rays, while we were waiting for the hygenist to come. In the last week or so, he has a new "smile" for the camera. It's more like a grimace. Oh well.

She was so sweet. She even read two books to Konnor while we were waiting for the dentist. I absolutely love this place.



stoneyridge farm...part two

So...the bees. I think I've mentioned in the past how Konnor is deathly afraid of flies/bees, pretty much anything that can fly. Well, on our trip to the pumpkin patch, we discovered that he is still DEATHLY afraid of bees. Now, I was kind of freaked out by how many of them were around but I had to hold it together for Konnor's sake, which really didn't make the situation any better. He was still afraid.

When we got dropped off by the wagon, Will and Konnor decided to head into the apple orchard to pick an apple. They immediately spotted bees everywhere, mainly on the ground eating all the rotten apples. When I looked down at one point, there were like 8 bees on one apple. If you look at the first picture below, that is about as far into the orchard Konnor went. Because within a minute, the bees were flying all over the place and Konnor did not like it one little bit. He had a complete meltdown.

So, we get Konnor out of the orchard and go sit down about 20 yards away to enjoy the scrumptious apple Will picked (by the way, it was the best apple I have ever had...so sweet). But the bees had other plans. Konnor was able to enjoy his apple for about 2.5 seconds and then the bees started to fly around him again, most likely because he had an apple. So, he completely freaked out again and dropped his apple in the dirt, which made him even more upset because he was really enjoying his apple.

Needless to say, our pumpkin picking experience wasn't as fun as it could have been because Konnor was afraid to even walk on the ground, which meant I had to carry him all over the pumpkin patch (he was literally glued to my side). Finally after 10 minutes or so, we were able to calm him down (thank goodness the bees were not over in the pumpkin patch area) and he was able to stand for a few minutes at a time and help pick out a really good pumpkin.

The funny thing of all is that once he was calmed down and we were picking out a pumpkin, Will spotted an earthworm and Konnor was all about it and even held it in the palm of his hand. He thought it was so cool. I don't get it. I think part of his being afraid of bees is because they come out of nowhere and that's probably what freaks him out the most. He's not expecting to see them. One second he's fine and then the next second a bee is right in his face. I totally get it. I'm almost 30 and I'm still afraid of bees. At least he's a lover of earthworms! 

The ironic thing is Konnor loves to play pretend that he is a bee. He will stick his hand under his shirt and poke his shirt out with his finger and chase Will and I around the house and make buzzing noises like he is a bee attacking us. He loves to do this. And what's funniest of all is that he's going to be a bee for Halloween. He chose to be a bee and now we come to find out that he is deathly afraid of them. Hmmmm...I wonder if he'll still want to be a bee after the experience he had on Saturday.

stoneyridge farm...part one

On Saturday, we met up with some friends and headed out to Stoneyridge Farm to enjoy the animals, pumpkin patch, train ride, donuts, great photo-ops, etc. It was opening day and the weather couldn't have been any better. Konnor had a blast...well, except for the whole bee or I should actually say, bees, incident. Yeah, it was not pretty but I will go into all of that tomorrow with part two. For now, just enjoy these photos of my boys.
