mr. konnor

How stinkin cute is Konnor? He wanted to show everyone that he can sit on his own (only for about 30 seconds though before he flops over). So cute! If you look closely to the first photo, you can see his two bottom teeth. I can't believe how sharp those suckers are.

I just can't help taking pictures of this cute little boy. I just love when Konnor and Maggie play with each other. It's so darn cute. We had a little photo shoot this morning and aren't they the sweetest things ever? Maggie just loves him. The other night, when Konnor was trying to go to sleep (he was in my bed & was having a hard time going to bed), Maggie jumped on the bed and layed right by Konnor's feet. Konnor lifted his feet and layed them on Maggie's chest....so cute! I'm so glad they get along. I was worried about how Maggie would handle him but it has worked out better then I imagined it would. Even when Konnor grabs at her lips and pulls really hard, she doesn't mind. Such a sweet puppy! I don't think Maggie realizes though that the pulling and tugging will probably only get worse!

7 months

Konnor turned 7 months on thursday and thankfully he is a happy baby once again. The antibiotics kicked in pretty quickly and stopped the ear ache (thank goodness). He still has a cough and his nose seems to be a little stuffed but I'll take that over the ear infection any day. This past week was painful to say the least. But now he is slowly healing. He's eating, laughing, talking, and falling asleep all by himself (he wasn't doing that when he was sick). Unfortunately, now that Konnor is feeling better, Will and I are not feeling so hot. I have a stuffed up nose, my head feels like it's 100 pounds and my throat is completely sore. I hate being sick! Konnor even gave his sickness to his Nana and his uncle Jake. Oh well, hopefully it'll pass soon. Some new photos. Gotta love my husband, he's such a dork!

sick baby

konnor hasn't been feeling good the last couple of days. we thought he just had a cold but then today, he sounded horrible. coughing, running nose, just plain miserable. we took him to a walk-in clinic that was opened (since it was sunday) and we found out that he has another ear infection...his second one on top of having a cold and on top of having two teeth poke through. poor guy. it's been a stressful last few days for everyone around here. now that he is on antibiotics, i think the days will slowly start getting better. we hope so because we want our happy baby back. here's a video of konnor about a week ago. so happy. can't wait for this side of him to return.

konnor update

Konnor has been moving right along with pretty much everything. It's so exciting to see all the changes and growths. He suprises me everyday. Let's see...Konnor will be 7 months in one week. I can't believe it! He is growing like crazy. I think he's going to be a tall boy. We measured him the other day (with our trusty tape measure) and he is a little over 27 inches. He has moved on to size 3 diapers (I probably should have switched a couple of weeks ago but he had so many diapers left I didn't want to waste them). He is wearing 6-12 month clothing (has been for a few weeks). He will pretty much eat whatever you put in front of him. There were a few things that he didn't like in the beginning (peas, carrots) but once he tried them a few times, he decided that they're not that bad. His favorite is sweet potato and squash. I'm just starting to feed him three times a day but he's pretty much the boss. If he wants it he'll eat it and if he's done he will definitely let you know. No trying to shove another spoonful in his mouth. He knows when he is full. As you can see in the photo below, he loves to eat.

Konnor is also move verbal (as you saw in the last post). Now I'm working on "mama". He's also rolling over from his back to his tummy. Doesn't do it often but he will occasionally. He will put weight on his legs now and actually stand. I was a little worried about this but he finally decided that it's not that bad. He can sit when propped up against something. He's also done it a few times without being propped up against something but has only lasted a few seconds before he flops forward, getting better though. His two bottom teeth have finally pushed through his gums. (not a happy camper with this). For the last couple of weeks he hasn't completely been himself. Really cranky and it's been tough trying to put him down for naps and lots of crying. I knew his behavior was from his teething and I tried lots of stuff. The one thing that has calmed him down the most is a cold, wet washcloth. He loves to munch on it which helps his poor gums. Look at the picture below for proof. He'll just stick it in his mouth and leave it in there. It's pretty funny.

He's also reaching for everything and anything he can get his hands on. He absolutely loves the remote. Don't try and take it away though or he'll get mad. He also has to taste everything or at least put everything in his mouth at least once (probably because of the teething). He recognizes when I sing the itsy bitsy spider especially when I do the hand motions. He starts to smile and stare at my hand motions. When he's cranky, I'll sing this to him and it actually calms him down. What else...he still loves taking a bath and loves to splash the water everywhere. He still likes to pee right when I change his diaper. He's just doing some amazing things and Will and I are so proud. I can't wait to see what he has planned next. Also, I just love this last picture. Doesn't he look so grown up? I can't believe how big he is.

"what did you say?"

As of this morning Konnor has started saying a new sound (or word...which is what I like to believe). He really likes his daddy and wants to be just like him as you can see in the photo to the left. I think he'll have a hat fetish just like his daddy. Anyway, his daddy is one of his favorite people (besides me of course) and today he decided to say "dada" for the first time. Yep, that's right. Now some of you might say that he is just learning a new consonant/vowel combo but to Will and I, he is saying "dada" and knows what he is saying. Either way, it's just so darn cute that I had to capture it on video. He woke up from his morning nap talking and talking and saying "dada." I tried to get him to do it a few more times but I'm not sure if I succeeded. If you listen carefully, he definitely says it in the beginning and I think a few more times during the rest of the video. He also squeals a lot during the video as well and the banging you hear is his foot. That's a new thing too. He's really been into the whole kicking thing and when he is laying on his back he bangs his foot on the ground like crazy. I think I have a future soccer player in the family.

new photos

So, life's been pretty crazy lately. Will was gone for 2 weeks for some military school and just got back about a week ago. We've been running around trying to finish up our landscaping for the house because our final inspection for the outside of the house is next wednesday. Yes, it's crazy but we do have to have a final inspection on our landscaping. There's certain trees we have to plant, everything has to be a certain way, etc. Man, if I knew how anal the valley was about all of this I don't think we would have built a house here. It would have been ten times less stressful just buying a house that was already built (especially one that isn't in an association). That's the part that sucks the worse. If we ever move, I don't think I'll ever live in an Association again. It's so dumb. Okay, enough venting. Here are some recent photos.
Will spending some quality time with Konnor on his first day back

Konnor drinking from his sippy cup. He likes his sippy cup but LOVES drinking from a regular cup. I'm trying to encourage the sippy cup though because it's WAY less messy.

Konnor spending some time with Maggie. I love it. Maggie loves Konnor so much, she tries to give him kisses as often as she can (meaning she likes to lick the heck out of his hand) and everytime Konnor sees Maggie his face lights up and he puts his hand out to reach for her. It's pretty darn cute!

Will and Konnor getting ready to watch the Super Bowl but it looks like Konnor's more interested in sucking his thumb. I have a bad feeling that he is going to be a thumb sucker. I'm trying to discourage it so we'll see what happens. He looks pretty cute though...so does Will!
