play date

Konnor and I drove out to Lynden yesterday morning and met up with our friends Tamara, Davey, and Samantha. We met up at the enormous park that's out there and we had a blast. It was our first time at that park and boy is it huge! Konnor had fun sliding, swinging, runnign around, throwing rocks in the stream and playing with Davey and Sam. Afterwards we headed to Tamara's house for lunch and then called it a day. We had so much fun. We'll definitely have to make another trip out there soon. Maybe when it's a little warmer!

Here are some shots from our adventure.

meet our fish

Konnor has been wanting a fish for awhile now and we finally decided to get one for him. We were originally going to get him a goldfish (they're only 10 cents at Wal-mart) but they were out of them so we just let Konnor choose which one he wanted. He chose this black fish. I don't even know what type of fish it is but Konnor sure loves it.

I just hope it doesn't die too soon. I've never had a fish before so hopefully, I can keep it alive. Now that I think about it maybe we should have just waited to get a goldfish because those are a lot cheaper and a lot easier to change out if one dies. Now, what do I do if this one dies? Hmmm, I'm going to have think about that.

In any case, Konnor absolutely loves his fish. It's the first thing he says "hi" to in the morning and he always has to say "good night" to it before he goes to sleep. He also loves watching it eat and he's even pretty good at feeding it as well.

Now, we just have to think about a name. Any suggestions?

another video for daddy...

a message for daddy...

park adventure

It was such a nice day yesterday so we decided to spend some time at the park. We had a blast. It was crazy busy on the playground so we spent most of the time just walking around and exploring.

Konnor immediately found a beetle on the ground and spent a good 5 minutes (it would have been longer if he had a say) watching it walk around. He even touched it a few times. At one point I was afraid he might even squish it with his finger...but thank goodness, he didn't. This was so suprising to Will and I because for the longest time Konnor has been afraid, actually terrified, of any sort of bug or insect, especially anything that flies. So, I think Konnor has finally made progress in the bug department. He's touching the beetle in the photo below.

Konnor and daddy spent some time throwing pinecones into the tiny waterfall and watching them get swept away. Konnor had a ball doing this.

A perfect day for a shadow picture. Had to get one of all three of us.

Stay tuned: tomorrow a post on our fish adventure that also took place yesterday.

update

This past week was pack full of stuff. First off, Will had to go to the emergency dentist because he was in severe pain. He found out he had an absest under a tooth. So he had to get a root canal and he was in sever pain for about a week. That was NOT fun, for any of us. He's just now starting to feel somewhat better.

On Saturday, my dad and stepmom came over for a few hours. We hadn't seen them since Christmas. Konnor had a good time hanging out with them. Thanks for the presents!

On Tuesday, Will had to go down south for work so Konnor and I decided to tag along to visit my mom, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and my best friend and her kids. Plus, my military id was expired and I had to get a new one.

Konnor and I went and saw my mom for an hour then went over to my friends house. Konnor had fun playing with Anna. Aren't they cute together?

Konnor's tickling Anna in this picture.

Then we all got together at my brother's place for dinner. Konnor had fun playing on the computer with his Aunt Martha.

Me and my momma. For those of you who don't know. She was in the hospital again. She's been losing quite a bit of blood (a normal blood count is anywhere from 35 to 40, my mom's has been at 16) and no one can figure out where she's losing it from. She is seeing a specialist, so hopefully he can find the cause, if not, she will be referred to a blood specialist and he better find the reason or else I don't know what we'll do next.

Konnor and I hadn't seen my side of the family for months so it was really good to see all of them and catch up even if it was only for a day. Hopefully, we'll be able to make it down again soon.

Will leaves for recruiter school in a few days (for five weeks) and then Will's mom, stepdad and brother are coming for a visit in about a week. It'll be good to see them all again. I know Konnor has missed his Nana, grandpa and uncle Jake.

My 29th birthday is tomorrow. I can't believe it's my last year in the 20s. How did I get so old? Okay, I might not be that old but I sure do feel like it a lot of the times, especially with my broken back, which has not improved with exercise. Oh well. Maybe once I lose all the weight I intend to lose, my back will feel a little better.

I think Will, Konnor and I are just going to relax tomorrow for my birthday. We plan to take Konnor out, maybe to the park and then we're gonna have Pizza Hut pizza (mmmmm, I love pizza) and then I want a icecream cake. That's all I want. Since I've been on a diet for the past 5 weeks, I think I deserve to pig out on my birthday, right?

cooking time

Konnor loves to play with the kitchen utensils. Usually, I'll only give him one or two utensils but yesterday decided to let him play with most of them. Konnor immediately lined them up in a row. It's one of his favorite things to do. He especially loves to line up his cars. I'll have to post some pictures of that some other time. But anyway, he also went and grabbed his basket of play food and a pan and went to town "cooking" for me. He sure had a fun time.

bath time fun

I let Konnor have his bath foam and he decided to empty the entire can into the bath. It took him a good 20 minutes and at least he had fun, right? As you can see in the photo, the water was completely covered in pink foam. Konnor thought it was hilarious.

finger painting or foam brush painting in konnor's case.

We bought Konnor some finger paints a couple of weeks ago and he tried the finger painting for about 2.2 seconds and then realized that he did not like having his fingers in the paint. Yeah, Konnor's one of those kids that doesn't like to get messy. If there is anything on his hands, he freaks. So, the whole "finger" painting didn't go quite as I was expecting. So, we went the foam brush route and Konnor had a ball. I covered the coffee table in construction paper and Konnor went to town. It's one of his new favorite things to do.

new kids...

About a week ago, my best friend, Melissa and I won free tickets to go see a screening of New Kids on the Block's new dvd, "Coming Home". The best part was that the New Kids came and watched it with us. They did a little voting contest and the top three cities recieved a screening with the New Kids. Seattle was one of the winners...cool, huh? Then, there were only 400 seats available so if you wanted a ticket, you had to email them and then it was like a random lottery to see who would recieve a ticket. Melissa and I were lucky enough to each get a ticket and go together. Most of the fans had to go by themselves.

The dvd was amazing. Seeing the New Kids so close up was amazing. The best part, I got a hug from Donnie Wahlberg. I was too chicken to ask for a picture with him but at least I got the nerve to ask for a hug. I really wanted one from Joe (since he's my favorite) but I didn't get close enough.
