look what i can do

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am a big boy now...if you haven't noticed. Yep, that's right, I can drink from a sippy cup and I love it as you can see in the pictures. But guess what? I also love to drink from a regular cup. It's a lot more messy (for momma) but I actually prefer the "real" cup to the sippy cup. Maybe because I see momma drinking from a "real" cup all the time but whatever the reason, I have started to venture off to new and more challenging things. I've also started to consider holding my bottle all by myself so momma doesn't have to do it all the time. I'm not all the way there yet but I do like to grab the bottle from momma and put it in my mouth and give momma a break for a minute or two before I get tired of holding it. Anyhoo, I have to go take a nap now but I will try and give you some more updates later. Bye!

snowed in...

Look at all the snow. It's only been snowing for 30 minutes and there is already an inch of snow on the ground with a layer of ice underneath. I tried to walk down my driveway and I couldn't even do that. I pretty much slid the whole way down. Everything is completely white. What am I going to do? Even as I write this the trees are even more covered than in this photo. I love the snow but not when I'm supposed to drive in it. I guess I'm stuck in the house all day unless it decides to stop snowing. I'll just have to wait and see. I hope every one else out there is doing well.

P.S. I just had to share what Konnor did yesterday morning. He rolled over from his back to his tummy! Yay, Konnor! So, I hear him talking at around 4:30 yesterday morning so I get out of bed to go get him and I find him with his head at the end of the bed and his feet at the front of the bed and him laying on his tummy. What a big boy! So proud of him!

rest in peace...

I have very very sad news. Our kitty Sue has passed away. Even as I write this it's hard to believe that he is gone. He left this world on friday...he had just turned 7. Sue had been acting strange during his last couple of days. He wouldn't go outside (only to potty), he wasn't eating very much, he was continually meowing, and we noticed that he was a lot skinnier. Will and I talked about taking him to the vet but not soon enough. We noticed that he seemed a little different but we definitely weren't expecting him to pass away so soon. Thursday night, he actually went outside and stayed out all night and on friday when I came home from running some errands I heard him meowing from somewhere outside. I called his name but he wouldn't come to me. So I followed his voice and found him under our next door neighbors front stairs. When I came up to him he was drooling (I had never seen that before and it completely freaked me out)and just meowing and meowing. I picked him up and found that he was really limp. I brought him in the house and cleaned him up and when I layed him on the counter he would not move. After about 5 minutes, he decided to move and he could barely walk, he had no energy whatsoever. I called Will in a panic and he told me to try and keep him as comfortable as I could. He kept dragging himself to different spots in the house and I finally realized that he was trying to find a spot to pass away. I finally decided to make him a bed in the garage so Maggie couldn't bother him and within 5 minutes he stopped meowing (up to this point he meowing nonstop). I waited about 15 minutes and when I went to go check on him he had passed away. Needless to say, I was quite devestated, especially since Will's been gone and Sue was his buddy. I was sad that he couldn't be here to see him one last time. When Will's dad came home he covered Sue up and buried him in our backyard. I'm so glad he was able to do that because I know I wouldn't have been able to. Sue was an amazing kitty. He was so full of personality and he loved to cuddle and mess with Maggie. You could tell just what he was thinking by the look he would give you. He will truly be missed. Here are some of my favorite photos of Sue. We will never forget you. We love you!

6 months

I can't believe Konnor is 6 months old. Wow! Sorry there's no photo. My internet isn't working for some reason and I've been really lazy and haven't called Comcast yet. So, I'm writing this quick post during my lunch break at work. Konnor had his six month check up today and it went pretty well considering his four shots. Not a happy camper. Besides his shots, the appointment went well. Here are his new stats. He has a really big head (just like his daddy). It is 17 1/2 inches. He weighs 16 pounds and 4 ounces and he is 26 5/8 inches long. I knew he was going to be long because he's already outgrown his 3-6 month sleepers and onsies. He can still wear most of his 3-6 month 2 pieces but the sleepers and onsies were too tight lengthwise. He's already wearing a lot of 6-12 month and 9 month clothes. My boy is growing too fast. I look at his preemie clothes and can't believe he used to be that small. One more exciting news, Konnor pretty much rolled over from his back to his tummy today at the doctor's office. I was telling the doctor how he can roll from his tummy to his back but not the other way around when he decided to prove me wrong. The doctor turns to me and says "you mean turn over like that?" I was super excited. The doctor flipped him back over and wanted to see if he could do it again and yes he did. He wasn't 100 percent flipped over on his belly, he couldn't quite adjust his shoulder but he was pretty much there. I think his motivator was the really loud paper he was laying on, he really wanted to put it in his mouth. Anyway, once I can fix my internet at home, I will post more pictures of my sweet baby.

Konnor just wanted to wish the Green Bay Packers good luck on their game tonight. As you can tell by his outfit and his smile he is super excited to watch the game tonight. Should be a good one. Final score will be 28 to 24 packers.

amazing

It's truly amazing how quickly Konnor has grown...especially this last month. I think he's accomplished so much this last month, it's really amazing if you think about it. Konnor is 5 1/2 months and in two weeks has his six month check up. I can't believe it's already been almost six months. My boy has grown so quickly, I'm just trying to keep up and treasure every second I get to spend with him. I am truly blessed to have such a sweet baby. He rarely and I mean rarely cries. He is usually smiling and kicking and talking and being the active boy that he is. These past couple of days have been a struggle though because I think he was a little sick with a cold but he seems to be getting better. He's still not drinking as much milk as he usually does and I don't know if that's because he's eating more solids or if he just doesn't need as much. The main difference in the last couple of days is that he's not sleeping very well at night. The night before was the worst when he thought it would be a good idea to wake up every 2 to 3 hours at a time. He did better last night and only got up once (at 3 am). I don't know if it's because he might've been a little sick or if he's going through some growth spurt, I have no idea but I just hope it doesn't continue or else I am going to go crazy with lack of sleep. Besides the crazy last couple of days, Konnor continues to amaze me. Just look at the picture below. He just realized today that he can put his foot in his mouth.

Literally, as of two days ago, he doesn't mind being on his tummy any more. Will said that Konnor spent almost 30 minutes on his tummy yesterday with no complaints...yay konnor! This morning, he spent some more time on his tummy and thought it would be fun to keep rolling over. I would put him on his tummy and he would immediately roll over. I would put him back on his tummy and he would roll over again. This went on for a while and then he got tired of it. Before I know it he's going to start rolling over from his back to his tummy. He completely arches his back and will actually lay on his side but hasn't rolled completely to his tummy yet. But I have a feeling it's going to happen very soon. Anyway, I think I hear my baby waking up from his nap. Here are some new pictures of my sweet boy. Look at how big he's getting!

I'll miss you!

So, one of my best friends ever is moving to Arizona by the end of the month and I'm so sad. Melissa and I have been friends since I can remember. We've known each other our whole lives. She's three years older than me and my mom actually babysat her when she was just a baby so she's literally been in my life since I was born. We've had so much fun together. I absolutely love her. She is the sister I always wanted. For the past 9 years I've been living here and she's been living in the south end of washington and we haven't seen each other a lot in these past 9 years but whenever we do talk or see eachother it's like we've never been a part. She is by far one of my closest friends. I'm going to miss her! Well, since I knew she was leaving soon, I decided to take a drive down south to see her one last time and to meet the new edition to her family...anna. Anna was born in October which means that her and konnor are almost three months apart. I had to take some pictures, they were just so darn cute. Melissa also has a 2 year old son named Chris. Aren't they all adorable? Melissa, I'm looking forward to visiting you very soon! These next few years are going to fly by so quickly and then you'll be back here before you know it. Love you!

So, I have been tagged by Tamara which means that I have to post 5 random things about myself. Let's see....

1. I am really self-concious and am still a pretty shy person. Not as bad as I used to be but I still am. It takes me a super long time to open up to people and feel comfortable enough to be myself. Trying to get over it but I am a lot better than I was in high school.

2. I have lived in Washington State all my life.

3. I was in the band (from sixth grade all the way to 12th grade). I played the clarinet and also did competitions, marching band (yes, I wore the really tacky uniforms. We marched at half time at our high school football games (I also did the flag...you know, the girls in the front of the band that twirled big flags around...that was me as well) but we also marched in our local parade as wel. I was also in pep band (I didn't have to do this that often because I was playing basketball). Yes, you can say it...I was a nerd and probably still am.

4. I have never broken a bone. I have never had surgery. I've never had to wear braces (born with straight teeth but I did have lots of cavities), still have all my molars (thank God...I was glad I never had to come to school with chipmunk cheeks), I've never smoked a cigarette and have never tried any other drugs. I've never been drunk. Yes, you can say it again...I am a nerd!

5. Lastly, I grew up in the ghetto. Yes, that's right. I have seen lots of cop cars in my neighborhood, heard quite a few gunshots growing up, and I know that I lived in the ghetto because I've seen my neighborhood on "COPS" quite a few times. Side note: My first year living up here was a shock for me because I was so used to seeing such a wide variety of cultures so when I came up here for school, it was strange to see that about 90 percent (at least it felt that way) of the population was caucasian.

a few things...

First things first...Happy Late Birthday to my wonderful brother Pat (turned 31) and to my amazing nephew Alex (turned 5). Hope the two of you had great birthdays and I will see you soon! Love to you both!

Steph and Ran came to town for a couple of days. It was great seeing the both of them. Will and I had the privelege of them staying with us. They were only here for a few short days so we got all the TOM girls together and had a little party. We had a great time. Can't wait to see the two of you again...soon I hope!
