another potty milestone

Any time Konnor sees his daddy going potty, he is fascinated because his daddy stands up when he goes and Konnor has always sat. Since Konnor is becoming quite an expert at the whole potty thing, we decided tonight to see if he would try going standing up. Konnor was all about it. He told us he needed to go potty so we asked him if he wanted to go potty like daddy and he said yes. So we brought out his stool and he stood there for a minute or so and then all of a sudden started going (and suprising kept 90% of the pee in the toilet). It was a pretty proud moment for us. Konnor thought it was so cool to pee standing up that he would not leave the bathroom. He just wanted to stand there and keep trying even though he didn't need to potty anymore. He actually started crying when I told him to leave. He's such a funny kid.

This picture is of Konnor after actually going potty. I missed taking a picture of the actual act because I was too excited to see if he'd go but that's probably a good thing for you guys because that's probably something you don't really care to see. But I had to get a pic of him standing there anyway. So here he is trying to go potty again even though he had already gone.

christmas 2009

Konnor had a great Christmas. He had way too many presents (at the end, he still had a few to open and was not interested). He just wanted to play with all of his new toys. Here are a few pics of him opening presents and playing with them.

Out of all the cartoons Konnor could have gotten hooked on, he chose "Caillou". For some reason, he absolutely LOVES this cartoon. He won't watch anything but Caillou. We found a book and a dvd for Konnor and when he opened those presents he was soooo excited. It's only been five days since Christmas and I have already read his Caillou book way too many times. He is in Caillou heaven.

Konnor got a bunch of CAT trucks as well and immediately fell in love.

A tube of play-do will also make Konnor happy.

And Pez...boy does Konnor love Pez. If I let him, I think he would be happy eating only Pez for the rest of his life.

We found this really cool tent for Konnor. He loves to make forts and we thought an easier solution would be a tent because it's something we can actually fit in as well (it comes with a detachable tunnel too) and man, Konnor loves this thing.

And last but not least, Konnor also got a box of musical instruments and he immediately went to town making music and dancing like crazy.

christmas videos

Since Skype wouldn't work for us on Christmas morning (so sorry, we really wanted you guys to see Konnor opening presents) with Konnor's Nana, Grandpa, and Uncle Jake. Here are a couple of videos. To everyone else who checks this blog, these aren't very exciting videos but I wanted to share these with the grandparents.

This first video is when Konnor first wakes up. Konnor is a "I like to cuddle on the couch for 30 minutes before I start the day" kind of guy and since we didn't do that on Christmas morning, he is kind of out of it. He has this look on his face like, what is going on?

This is when Konnor opens his presents from nana, grandpa, and uncle jake. He loves them by the way. He's been playing with the CAT trucks non-stop.

Konnor had his first cookie making party tonight and he loved every minute of it. He actually got really mad at me when I told him we were done with all the cookies. Here he is enjoying decorating the cookies with daddy.

Konnor saw Santa today. He did really well. I was expecting him to freak out but he was super excited about meeting Santa. When it was our turn to meet Santa, Konnor walked right up to him, said hi and jumped right into his lap. He even gave Santa a high-five. However, with all of his eagerness to meet Santa, he wasn't really into the whole taking a picture with Santa. He would not look at the camera for the life of me and would not smile. I guess I should be happy he wasn't the kid in front of us who cried the entire time while the dad forced him to sit with Santa (it was quite entertaining to watch). I'll take what I can get.

seeing these made konnor's day

I think Konnor is going to try and sneak into daddy's work as much as possible now that he knows all of these cool trucks are there. When we dropped Will off at work yesterday, we took him around back to check these beauties out and boy was Konnor in heaven. He just ran in circles laughing and smiling and pointing at all of the huge trucks. It was like he didn't know where to begin. Hard to believe, but he was a little upset when we had to leave. Next stop will have to be to an air show of some kind. He'll just love seeing airplanes too.

konnor needs to work on choosing better outfits.

According to my two year old, this is acceptable outdoor wear for the winter season...and yes, he dressed himself from head to toe. I had no say in this outfit. I tried to suggest pants and a jacket but he said no. He quickly changed his mind once he figured out I wasn't letting him play outside unless he wore those things. But I thought this was hilarious so I had to take a picture of it to share with all of you.

first snow of the season

The minute it started to snow, Konnor had to be outside enjoying it. So, I bundled him up and out to the deck we went. The first thing he had to do was take the broom and sweep the snow off the deck. Obviously, there isn't much to sweep yet.

Then we played in his house for awhile.

Then he tried to catch the snow in his hand.

We headed inside to warm up a bit and when the snow started to stick a little, out we went again. This time Rusty decided to join us. Isn't he cute? He loved the snow.

This time around Konnor had to bring one of his cars out with him to see if it was capable of driving in the snow.

Then for some reason, he thought it would be fun to roll around in the snow. He continuously kept lying on his back and it was so funny because the snow would fall into his eyes so finally after the third time, he started to close his eyes whenever he lied down.

Here he is trying to catch the snow in his mouth. Good thing we don't have a metal pole or else he might of tried to stick his tongue to it.

When he wasn't too successful at catching the snow in his mouth, he figured out an easier way. Just swipe the gloved hand on the railing and eat it out of your hand.

After nap time, Konnor was determined to go back out into the snow. Since there was quite a bit more snow on the ground, we decided to head out to the front of our house and go sledding.

Will tried it out first.

Then Will pulled Konnor up and down the street in the sled. Konnor absolutely loved the sled. We spent a good hour running up and down the street pulling Konnor. When it was time to go in, he cried so hard. At least it looks like he'll get another day of playing in the snow.

Check out the little video of Will pulling Konnor on the sled. If you listen closely, you can hear Konnor saying "whoa" a few times. He had the biggest smile on his face the whole time. I think it might be his new favorite thing to do.

this isn't the best picture (i don't have a lot of zoom on my camera) but you can still see the two eagles on either side of the picture. isn't it cool? we were on our way home and spotted these two beauties. we had to take a picture.

It was such a nice day out yesterday that we decided to take a trip to the park.

This is Konnor's new smile for the camera. He shuts his eyes. It's so funny.

This is now my new favorite photo of my boys. It's scary how identical they are. Not only in looks but in personality as well.

christmas tree...

On saturday, we decided to dig out our christmas tree and set it up. This time around was great because Konnor was able to help out plus Will's here for Christmas. Konnor was so excited when we told him we were going to have a christmas tree in the house. He helped set it up, string the lights, string the beads, and he did an awesome job with the ornaments. I am kind of anal with the ornaments so I rearranged most of the ones that he put on the tree (when he went to sleep) but I did leave a few. Check out the second picture below. Konnor really enjoyed these twisty ornaments and decided that they all had to go on the bottom of the tree. Konnor wouldn't let us put these ornaments just anywhere on the tree, they had to go where he wanted them to go. It was pretty funny.

Konnor just loves the Christmas tree. Ever since we put it up on Saturday, right before he goes to bed, he has to walk up to the Christmas tree, wave bye to the tree and say "goodnight christmas tree." It is so cute. He also thinks it's pretty cool to stand in front of it and have his picture taken. We could have spent all night Saturday taking pictures.

Will and I have been working hard teaching Konnor how to draw shapes and faces. He has definitely impressed us. He has learned how to draw squares, triangles, and circles. He has also become really good at faces. I love the hair and the huge ears in the picture below! Now we're trying to teach him to write some letters of the alphabet.

another park adventure

I just found these pictures and realized that I hadn't posted these on the blog. These were taken a couple of weeks back (when we still had decent weather). Konnor is being a lot more cooperative with taking photos lately. He'll actually pause for a second and smile for me. I might be biased but I think he is the cutest boy ever!
